The 1973 Roe v. Wade decision was the best, wisest U.S. Supreme Court decision in my lifetime. [I’m 66 years old.] Its main focus was protecting the life and health of the woman, and it established that all abortions performed before fetal viability, [a little after the end of the first trimester] shall be legal in every state. It said that if any state decides to restrict the right to an abortion after fetal vibility, it must place the highest priority on protecting the life and health of the woman.
On June 24, 2022, however, six woman-hating, partisan, political hacks voted to overturn the Roe v. Wade decision. I read their majority decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, and I was appalled by their shoddy legal reasoning and unsupported legal findings. The dissent, on the other hand, entered by Justices Stephen Breyer, Sonia Sotomayor and Elena Kagan, was brilliant and constitutionally sound.
When I replace Andy Barr (R), I will introduce articles of impeachment against all six of the “Justices” who attacked every woman in America and most of the men.
